"One Night"

Most of us have the capacity to look at an infant and feel unconditional love whether they are a part of us or not. Perhaps this is how we are loved by the God of our understanding as well. We were all like this once and what we all have in common is that despite our differences we all have a soul. Is it really too much to ask ourselves why we can't love ourselves in this same way we are loved? Perhaps this one Principle can overcome all personalities including my own....how about tonight?

One Night

There was a night so very many years ago,
This night ignited a path for which our souls could go.

There was no media, fireworks or proclamations from afar,
Only a few followed the light of a single star.

Those that followed were humbled in awe,
A newborn babe awaited, a glimpse of peaceful eternity is what they saw.

The shepherds, the wise men, the animals nearby,
Was there a sign that said this is my son, from up high?

What made them go, to endure and sustain?
Was there a sign somewhere that said this child will relieve your pain?

I wasn’t there so I don’t really know,
Did you ever wonder, if a star led you, would you really go?

They were there, they heard this infant’s cry,
God’s gift to man, yet I wonder, did they still have times when they would ask why?

So perhaps it isn’t a matter of seeing,
We are left with only faith, of something greater, that keeps us believing.

So try to focus, on whatever may be your star so bright,
Just capture that feeling of unconditional love, given to you, one night.
